Away We Go!

First off, my apologies for not posting the last couple of days. I've been working my nails to nubs trying to pack everything because I'll be moving this weekend! And don't worry, I wrapped each polish, no broken bottles here!

I'm going to be taking some time off from the blog, seeing as how I might not have internet access right away and now that all my polishes are wrapped. This way I can also have time to unpack, get back to my normal routine and collect more wonderful polishes to share with you!

But don't worry, I will be back! I'll return on July 13th with a shiny new post and many more to come!

Thank you for understanding and for being such loyal readers.

Finally O.P.I Spotted

So I was able to get my hands on O.P.I Spotted awhile back and it has been sitting on a shelf in all its glory. I thought it was about time to take it down and finally put it to work! I had a little trouble with it at first, but someone gave me a tip that the base color needed to be completely dry before layering Spotted over it.

I decided it would look radioactive with Lime Crime Pastelchio underneath. It turned out really neat looking! Almost like some kind of toxic oil spill. Spotted may be a little hard to work with, but once you get the hang of it, its pretty awesome. I'll definitely be using it more often!

Quick Post: Rockin' Manicures

And so we've come to the last Rockin' Manicure for now! I've actually grown to like this segment and might have more in the future. It also seemed like my husband had a really fun time picking colors and designs, which is nice that he can share a little bit of my happiness for manicures.

This manicure was based off Rainy Day Mondays by The Carpenters. I meant to post it yesterday, but I had a hiccup in posting. I really like this one because I love rainy days and glitter gradients. I used China Glaze Secret Periwinkle as a rainy sky base color. And layered Orly Atomic Splash and Beautifully Disney Mistress Of Evil for a cloudy rain effect.

Rainbow Honey Summer Of 199X Collection Preview!

*Products in this post were sent to me for the purpose of a 100% honest unbiased review.*

I saw a preview of Rainbow Honey's new 199X collection and just knew it was going to be something epic. So I was ecstatic to know I was getting to review three amazing colors! This collection has ten colors and today I'm going to show you three.

Mint Flavor is more of an icy blue mint with shimmer to match. This photo doesn't do it justice because its really beautiful and shimmery. I used two layers for opacity and the formula was nice and smooth.

You can see the shimmer a little better in matte. I think I'm leaning towards matte because it makes it look so cool and icy.

I Miss You is filled to the brim with pastel pink, blue and iridescent glitters! All shapes and sizes included and just gorgeous. I put one layer over Lime Crime Lavendairy and it really brings it together.

Another fantastic lacquer in matte! It softens the colors to perfection and looks so petite. I adore the effort and details that Rainbow Honey puts into their polishes.

Apple Kid is a stunning hot pink with lovely pink shimmer. I love the amount of shimmer in this one and the color is brilliant. I wasn't quite sure of this color in the bottle, but it has to be my favorite so far!

And its even more gorgeous in matte. The shimmer almost looks like its turning champagne pink! I'm very excited for the rest of this collection!

You can get this collection, half of or individual at rainbowhoney.com on June 21st! And be sure to check out their other amazing  polishes!

Quick Post: Rockin' Manicures

Its time for another manicure chosen by my husband and inspired by music! This time he chose a song by MGMT, I think its called Time To Pretend. I watched the video with him and he saw in the background there were a bunch of imperfect stripes on the wall.

I used O.P.I What's With The Cattitude? as a base color. With a striping brush, Sinful Colors Unicorn and Color Club Mambo made some messy stripes. I didn't really like this manicure, but it turned out like he'd said so that's what matters.

Quick Post: Wedding Inspired

After watching my husband get so inspired by songs, I decided I wanted to do an inspiration manicure of my own. If there are two colors I love, its got to be pink and purple. I know, they're girly, but I love them all the same.

My wedding colors were pink and purple and it was lovely. Unfortunately the only photo I have of my bouquet is tiny, but you can see the beautiful colors. So I wanted to bring that beauty to a manicure.

I used Gosh Miss Minty as a base color. First I layered Essie Stroke Of Brilliance, then Essie A Cut Above on top. I also added Beautifully Disney Just One bite for a splash of hot pink and Orly Can't Be Tamed as a kick of dark purple. I did layer more Stroke Of Brilliance and A Cut Above to make the mix complete. It ended up really nice! I have to say these four glitters are my favorite combination so far!

Disney Inspiration: Minnie Mouse

Minnie Mouse has always been one of the iconic characters representing Disney. Of course her beau is the original, but its her time to shine! She taught me that polka dots and bows were awesome and bright colored shoes are fashionable.

The first three nails I used Sally Hansen Rapid Red and White On. I love doing polka dot nails, they're quick and easy if you have a dotting tool! What would a Minnie Mouse manicure be without her ears and famous hair bow? I used Sally Hansen Black Out as a base. Used acrylic to mold the ears and a cute little plastic bow I had in my accessories. And for her shoe I used Color Club Almost Famous with a painted bow and a half pearl for pizazz!

I wasn't so sure about this manicure at first, I thought maybe it looked too simple, but it really grew on me!

Announcement And New Segment!

So, next month I'll be moving into a new place. Which means that internet might not be hooked up for a bit. So I'll need to take a hiatus for a little while. But before I do! I have some posts for the rest of this month for you all! I prepared them in advance since I have to pack all my polishes. What a pain that's going to be, huh?

Onto the new segment!

My husband and I were talking about ideas for some posts this month. He suggested that I give him full reign over manicures for a few posts! I thought it was a pretty good idea, even better that he themed all the manicures after songs!

And so, we'll have three "Rockin' Manicure" segments this month! Today will be the first!

My husband knows that I absolutely love RuPaul's Drag Race and I showed him RuPaul's fabulously ridiculous new song Peanut Butter. So he chose Color Club Earthy Angel as a peanut butter base, with Color Club Its A Hit and L'Oreal Lilac Coolers for jelly. And as a delicious jelly accent nail Deborah Lippmann Let's Go Crazy!

Not bad for a man choosing, huh? I think I'm gonna like Rockin' Manicures!

Summer Chartreuse Comparison

This color didn't catch my eye until I bought Color Club's Fiesta collection and fell in love with Sunrise Canyon. It was then when I realized I had a few colors that were pretty similar! Not to mention I picked up Essie The More The Merrier without even realizing it was almost the same. So I decided to make a comparison!

I found that I had two pairs that were close enough to one another to be considered dupes. You can see the four colors I chose above, aren't they gorgeous? This has to be one of my favorite shades of green.

O.P.I Did It On 'Em is from the Nicki Minaj collection that was released in 2012, I think. And Color Club Sunrise Canyon is from their Fiesta collection released this year. These too are basically dupes, Color Club looks just a teeny bit darker.

Essie The More The Merrier was recently released this year for Summer. China Glaze Def Defying is from the Cirque Du Soliel collection released in 2012. Its pretty clear that Essie is the lighter of the two, but they're still really close.

Personally I love all these colors, doesn't matter to me that they're almost identical. I wasn't aware of how much I liked Chartreuse, but the more bottles of it the better! Haha!

My 10 Must Have Glitters!

Awhile ago I had done a post about my 10 must have colors and figured it was time to show you my 10 must have glitters! I tried to make my list glitters that were pretty easy to find and made sure to leave out anything rare or limited edition.

Milani Gems is a great rainbow glitter top coat. Its packed with glitter so it only needed one coat over Butter London Cuppa. I have a soft spot for rainbow glitters, but this is one of the best I've ever seen.

Color Club Sugar Plum Fairy is a fantastic mini holographic glitter.  My favorite way to wear it is layer it on top of Sally Hansen Celeb City so that it covers the whole nail. I believe I did about three or four coats on this swatch. I just love how sparkly it is!

Orly Mermaid Tale is teal holographic hex glitter in varying sizes. Its from Orly's Flash Glam FX collection, which has a ton of great glitter top coats. I did two layers over Essie Naughty Nautical and they pair so well.

O.P.I Pirouette My Whistle is a lovely white and silver hex glitter. Two coats over Zoya Blue and it looks like a snowy sky. I chose this because its a nice soft glitter compared to all the bright colors. It can make any manicure look delicate.

O.P.I Polka.com brings us back to wild glitters with pink, purple and blue hexes. I fell in love with this glitter as soon as I grabbed it off the shelf. Two coats over Butter London Fiver tones it down a bit, but its still pretty.

Spoiled Jewelry Heist has an assortment of hex and square glitters in gold, bronze, iridescent and even purple! I did two layers over Finger Paints Gimme Some Sugar and the glitter seemed to bring out a coral color in the base.

Essie Stroke Of Brilliance has to be my favorite from their Luxeffects collection. Its a gorgeous lavender hex glitter of different sizes. Two coats over China Glaze Something Sweet and it creates a nice feminine look. I really love using it as a gradient glitter!

Hard Candy Black Tie Optional is an awesome black and white glitter full of hexes of all sizes and bar glitters. I absolutely adore any black and white glitters automatically! I did two coats over Essie Playdate because I also love purple. You really can't go wrong with this glitter!

China Glaze Blonde Bombshell is chock-full of golden hex glitters. I think it looks just lovely over Color Club  Wild Cactus and it only took one coat! This glitter is amazing for gradients and looks great on its own as well.

Sinful Colors Nail Junkie has a blue tint base in it and a bunch of iridescent glitters. Two coats over Butter London Blagger and it looks beautiful like a night sky. I've heard a lot of people use this color for galaxy nails!
