Quick Post: It's A Dupe!

So I recently came across the new lines from both O.P.I and Sinful Colors. I thought I was just picking up two pretty purples, but then I realized Sinful Colors had the same shimmer as O.P.I. Upon closer inspection, I found out it was almost an exact dupe!

They both have that blue and pink shimmer. Unfortunately the shimmer refuses to show in photos, but you can tell that they're almost identical. O.P.I is a teeny tiny bit darker than Sinful Colors. Who would've thought, right?

Best Birthday Presents Ever!

I can't even believe its my twenty fourth birthday today! Its been a really nice day, I got to go to lunch with my mom and husband. But I'd say the best thing is how thoughtful this gift is. My two friends, one of whom is the lovely Nailgasm, planned this surprise for me.

A polish called Candy Land that was made specially for me. Its adorable pastel purple, blue and pink glitters with yellow squares for pop! I paired it with Butter London Fiver and matte topcoat, it looks just like candy!

And I also swatched it over Lime Crime Milky Ways with shiny top coat. I absolutely love it and couldn't have gotten a better present.

You can buy Candy Land at Nailgasm's Etsy shop! She's on vacation now, but she'll be up and running sometime soon.

And as a bonus, while I was out to lunch my mom surprised me with this adorable purse! I just love that it looks like a little cartoon suitcase. This was an awesome birthday so far!

Pretty Sweet Manicures!

If you know me, then you know I have a taste for all things sweet! You could seriously give me a pencil that had cupcakes on it and I'd be the happiest girl in the world. So when thinking of my next manicures I got an idea to recreate some favorite childhood treats!

Candy Buttons, everyone knows those delicious sugar dots with that added flavor of paper! I thought my colored half pearls would be perfect for this manicure. It was actually pretty easy as well! Just a white base and lining up the pearls in rows. I think it turned out really cute!

Cotton Candy, whipped sugar fluff that came from a magical land full of unicorns. My favorite was always the multi-colored pastels. I love working with flocking powder, as impractical as it is to wear out and about, the way it looks in photos is amazing. For the background colors I used Butter London Fruit Machine, Lime Crime Once In A Blue Mousse and Essie Play Date. It was a total bonus that the pastel flocking powder I have had tiny iridescent glitters in it!

O.P.I Euro Centrale

Last week I had the opportunity to go on a little pre-birthday haul! My mom took me everywhere I wanted to go and I was able to grab some of the new O.P.I Euro Centrale colors. Of course I'm going to show them to you in matte, what kind of person would I be if I didn't?

Can't Find My Czechbook is a nice turquoise blue. It looks lighter in the bottle, but I actually liked it out of the bottle too! And that name is clever and hilarious.

In matte it becomes more of a beautiful sky blue.

You're Such A Budapest is splendid lavender. What you can't see if that it has this subtle shimmer to it. I wish it showed up because its a really pretty blue and pink shimmer.

It softens up in matte. Again you can't see the shimmer and its such a shame. is the best of this collection. I think its got to be my new favorite glitter from O.P.I. Its got glorious blue, pink and purple hexes with tiny purple hexes scattered.

I only had to put one layer over Butter London Cuppa to get good coverage. With a matte top coat you can see the colors really well and they just sparkle. I am in love with it!

Pairing Flakies With Colors!

Flakies may be a trend that's been around for a little while now, but I thought I'd do a post on pairing them with colors. Usually you get the best results out of flakies over black polish, but these colors really make them pop!

Zoya Chloe has a pink tint to it in the bottle, so I thought pairing it with a red would be a good idea. I adore how it brings out the orange and yellow flakes, it looks like burning embers. I used Sally Hansen Cerise as undies for this pairing.

Finger Paints Flashy has orange flakies in it, its always a good option to pair flakies with colors that are similar or identical to the flakie color. I used O.P.I Flit A Bit as undies in this pairing. Its subtle, but cute.

I was having a really hard time trying to get a flakie to show up on a yellow. I finally decided Finger Paints Twisted looked nice on Sinful Colors Unicorn. Its easy to pair rainbow flakies because any color will look pretty.

Zoya Opal has green flakies, but when they're not in the light they look pink. I paired it with Butter London Fiver and created a soft, elegant appeal.

I noticed that although Zoya Maisie had a blue tint, the flakies were mainly green. So I used Essie Mojito Madness to bring out the green, only to notice the subtle blues in the photo!

One of the great things about Essie Shine Of The Times is that its so vibrant and loaded with flakies that it looks good over just about anything. I used Layla Softouch Effect Aqua Zen for undies and it turned out really gorgeous!

Finger Paints Motley is a cool blue flakie, but instead of using a lighter blue I decided to go with something a little darker. I've been loving Essie Butler Please lately and it created a really great pair with Motley. It brings out the lighter blues in the flakes.

I'd have to say this is my absolute favorite pairing! Finger Paints Twisted is full of rainbow flakies. I've only ever seen it over darker purples, so I wanted to go lighter. Lime Crime Lavendairy makes Twisted look really beautiful.

I took a a chance with this pairing, but it turned out nice. Finger Paints Asylum has orange and purple flakies. Using Zoya Sweet as undies was a good idea, it ended up bringing out the purple in Asylum.

Hopefully this post will give you ideas next time you want to wear a flakie with something other than black!

Love, Candies And Chocolate!

Happy Valentine's Day to all my readers! I hope you're having a wonderful day no matter what. I myself am just going to spend some time with my husband. Yay! But before I go I decided to share two looks for today.

I am absolutely infatuated with Rainbow Honey's Sweet Talk and decided to put matte top coat over it. I also tried my hand at acrylic molds, which is so fun! I bought the supplies awhile back and felt these two designs were perfect for Valentine's Day. If you're unsure what acrylic molds are I might make a  post all about it soon!

My second look totally makes me think of chocolate covered strawberries. I used Essie Glamour Purse for undies and did a reverse glitter gradient with Essie A Cut Above, Barielle Pink Diamond and Rainbow Honey XOXO. I adore how the pink and red glitters mixed! I also found these cute little metal hearts at my local craft store that I thought would be perfect for nails. I actually like how they come out over the edges!

Rainbow Honey Limited Editions!

So Rainbow Honey revealed that they had two special limited edition polishes they would be giving one out with each fifty dollar purchase. I decided to go a little crazy and saved up to get both of them. I wanted to share swatches of them with you all!

This is My Love, which is gorgeous iridescent glitter with pink and white hearts. I did two layers over Finger Paints Spun Sugar. With a shiny top coat I love how the glitter sparkles and the hearts are just too cute!

I also did a matte top coat to show you the detail of the glitters. Its still just as gorgeous!

And here is Dearly Beloved, golden glitter and flakes with red hearts and hexes. I layered it over Finger Paints Amethyst Atelier, which is a deep dark purple. It looks so regal with shiny top coat!

I adore it in matte though because you can really see the golden flakes. I did two layers which covered the hearts a little but, but it still looks beautiful.

Even though these were a little pricey, check Rainbow Honey out because they make simply magnificent, quality polishes. They have a lot of great collections that are available in full and mini sizes!

Zoya PixieDust Collection!

I was so excited when I heard about Zoya's PixieDust collection and pre-ordered it right away! I have a love for textured polishes lately and it seems like they're getting popular. This was my first full collection order from Zoya and was pleasantly surprised with the effort they put into little extras! Along with the collection I got swatches of their Spring collection, a mini bottle of their remover and some Qtica dry drops!

This post is going to be pretty photo heavy because I wanted to show each color's texture without top coat, with shiny top coat and also with matte!

London is a stormy grey with what looks like tiny silver glitters. I know the texture looks rough, but its actually surprisingly soft.

Once I put top coat on it you can really see the tiny sparkles.

Of course I had to try matte over it as well. I really like this color in matte, it looks like stone.

Vespa is a nice dark mint with a pinch of silver magic. This one really makes me think of Tinkerbell.

You can really see the great color of Vespa with top coat.

And a matte top coat really softens the color!

Nyx is a gorgeous periwinkle blue. I'm really loving the textured look this collection has!

I really think this color is beautiful with top coat. It becomes a really moody blue.

And with matte it becomes a pretty light blue. Its making me think of the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio.

Chyna is a luxurious ruby red. By itself its more of a brick red which is still really pretty.

With top coat it becomes a sparkling red, almost like Dorothy's shoes!

And with the matte top coat you can see all the little sparkles and detail they put into these polishes.

Godiva is fresh, sparkling nude tone. Now with my skin tone it doesn't look nude, but it is.

With top coat the sparkles really shine!

And with matte is really reminds me of soft sand on a nice beach.

And finally Dahlia is a lovely raven black. For some reason by itself this reminds me of coal, but not in a bad way. I really like this look!

The top coat really brings out the sparkle in this and makes the black even darker. Its stunning!

This has to be my favorite color in matte though, its just so beautiful!

I'm so glad I ordered this collection because it is such a unique and charming collection. Don't let the texture part of it fool you because these colors become a whole different polish depending on whether you use a top coat and what type of top coat you apply.
