Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

I decided to start my year fresh by re-starting the growth on my nails. They started breaking and it became unbearable! With that being said, there won't be new posts for a week or two so that they can grow and become long enough to do more awesome designs for you all.

I have lots of amazing ideas and giveaways planned for the new year, so be sure to stay tuned!

Quick Glitter Comparisons

So yesterday I was lucky enough to be gifted a light box and some new polishes. I realized they looked a little similar to polishes I already own, so I decided to do a little comparison post!

I am fascinated by rainbow glitters and grabbed Rainbow In The S-Kylie right away! But I was unaware of the new rainbow glitter from Nicole By O.P.I, its called Confetti Fun. You can already tell by the bottle shot that they're a little different.

Confetti Fun has tiny glitters in it, where as Rainbow In The S-Kylie has bigger glitters. I also noticed that Rainbow In The S-Kylie has a lot more silver in it and neon glitters. I think they did a good job of making the two different enough and I suggest picking up Confetti Fun!

O.P.I Metallic 4 Life is from the Nicki Minaj collection that came out awhile back, it has silver glitters in a black jelly base. When I first saw Nicole By O.P.I Luke Of The Draw from their Modern Family collection I knew it was a dupe. So let's put them to the test!

I'd say that there was a difference if I could see one, but I think this is a full on dupe! I did two coats of each and it looks like maybe Luke Of The Draw has a little more glitter, but that's such a tiny detail. So I guess if you missed out on Metallic 4 Life, you'll have a second chance at it with Luke Of The Draw!

Disneybound Inspiration: Mr. Smee

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, with the holidays coming up and my recent trip to Disneyland I've been pretty busy. Plus I didn't want to do my nails only to mess them up when my mom and I were baking Christmas cookies. Yum!

If you haven't heard of Disneybounding, there is a whole site full of adorable outfits created to look like Disney characters with everyday wear. I became obsessed with this site and when I found out I was going to Disneyland I wanted to plan my outfit right away!

I decided on Mr. Smee from Peter Pan! I knew his outfit was kind of simple, but I could make it pretty cute. I found the perfect striped sweater at Forever21 and ordered a red slouchy beanie off Amazon. I also got an adorable purse from Target that looked like a great pirate bag, complete with buckles.

I even got a little set of old keys to attach to my purse. I was super happy with the outcome of my outfit, but I was missing something. Of course I had to do my nails to match! I found the perfect blue to go with my sweater, Essie Where's My Chauffeur.

I decided to use the ziplok hole punch tutorial (seen here!) for white hearts, which are so cute. And thought that little ropes around the hearts would be pretty. Every pirate deals with ropes at some point, right? On the ship, tying people up, escaping. Hehe.

Quick Post: Abominable Cuteness!

Christmas is coming up! Remember sitting and watching all those claymation movies with Rudolph. elves and that snowman narrator? I loved those movies! So what better way to welcome Christmas by doing an Abominable Snowman manicure. You know that I love flocking powder, so this was just another chance to work with it!

I had to mix a custom blue for his cute little face, but the rest was just flocking powder on top of a plain white. I used dotting tools for his eyes and hand did the rest. I think this is a really cute, simple manicure. But of course flocking powder doesn't go well with busy hands and it wore off in a few hours.

Happy Holidays!

Try It On Tuesday: Hot Mess Lacquers!

Today is just a quick post of two polishes I've been wanting to try for awhile now. I've had these two Hot Mess Lacquer bottles sitting on my shelf and decided today was the day to take them down and finally see just how pretty they are!

Across The Trailer Park, not only is the name hilarious, but you save money on this Deborah Lippmann dupe. I put two coats over Butter London Blagger. This gorgeous blue jelly with blue and green hexes is amazing! I got great coverage with just two coats and it really sparkles.

Cupcake I just had to buy because everyone knows I am obsessed with anything sweet! I put two coats over Color Club Bashful and its just so adorable. A shimmery pink jelly with golden hexes, big silver hexes and tiny iridescent squares. This polish is absolutely stunning and I was pleasantly surprised.

That's all I've got for today! I've got some really awesome posts coming up so stick around for them. And be sure to enter my 300 follower giveaway, its ends on the 12th!

Disney Inspiration: Vanellope Von Schweetz!

Vanellope Von Schweetz is a new character from Wreck It Ralph, which is a fantastic movie! I fell in love with her character (and all the others!) so fast. If you haven't seen this movie, I highly suggest it. She's not only adorable, but witty and sassy.

I wanted nails that represented parts of her and her story. I incorporated actual sprinkles and even candy wrappers into these nails and just adore them! These were a lot of fun to work with and I'm really glad I did them on fake nails so I can keep them.

The thumb nail is a cookie she makes for Ralph, it says "You're my hero" and its just so cute! I can't tell you how hard it is to write teeny tiny cursive, so I apologize if you can't read it. I actually took some sprinkles and cut them in half with an x-acto knife so that they would lay flat.

I based this nail off of her cute Reese's wrapper skirt and used the actual wrappers! I placed her stocking color underneath to peek out. I think its an adorable 3-D look and I think its my favorite. I also did my ring finger as one of her stockings!

My middle finger I wanted to recreate her sweet hair! I used tons of sprinkles for this nail and it was so much fun. In the lower right corner I used two with purple in between to make the head of a gummy bear. And the peppermint is a white sprinkle dot that I painted with red stripes.

And finally I wanted to incorporate her car into these nails! So I did the hood of her car, complete with a sprinkle and half pearl headlights. I used star glitters for around them and even did a pink icing drizzle.

I had so much fun doing these nails and am so happy to be inspired by this great movie. I'll definitely be doing some Wreck It Ralph and Fix It Felix nails soon!
